A new event on the LGBTIQ social calendar, the [art] Gallery Glide [and] Graze provides a wonderful Sunday afternoon experience, with plenty of food and drinks and the chance to meet new people and be social, whilst enjoying a different take on the Sydney cultural scene. The event features a wonderfully engaging and diverse range of artists, both local and national and will visit maunsell wickes, Wagner Art Gallery, MiCK The Gallery, and finishing at Martin Browne Contemporary.

At the galleries, guests will be able to get up close and personal with not only the artworks, but the artists and galleries owners as well. It's a chance for people to ask, discuss and engage with the artworks in a casual and relaxed environment. You can even ask ‘but what does it mean?’!

The maunsell wickes gallery, owned by Dominic Maunsell and Ted Wickes, in addition to being the first venue for the tour, also has the honour of being the oldest established gay gallery in Sydney. Located in three 1840's terrace houses the gallery has nine different exhibition spaces and an impressive sculpture courtyard.

The featured artist at maunsell wickes is Linton Meagher who produces an amazing collection of sculpture pieces. Meagher’s work explores the ways that various mass-produced objects can be taken out of their usual context and presented in ways that challenge the viewer to question their wider meaning in society. Objects are taken from the mundane to the more unique, as one sculpture piece features a pair of cute terrier dogs, made out of transparent silicone breast implants and lit internally. The piece is entitled “Puppies”.

Guests will be able to meet Linton over a sumptuous buffet lunch and hear detail from him about his works. Brown Brothers Winery, will also be providing bubbling refreshments to help lubricate the social interaction and art appreciation.

Event producer Adam Bold invites you to join in this special event. “By coming along on this tour, guests will be able to enjoy a wonderful afternoon out and about in gorgeous Paddington. They get to enjoy a fabulous lunch and beverages, meet some great artists and galleries, plus mix with a great group of people” says Bold. “It will be a lovely afternoon, and quite relaxed. We plan to promenade between the venues and thoroughly enjoy ourselves!”
